Thriving Urban Areas in 2040: Navigating Crises and Uncertainty

This workshop invites participants to explore urban life in 2040 through scenarios and futuring methodologies by using diverse personas to bring those distant realities to life. Through interactive discussions, one will examine the impacts of the climate and biodiversity crises on life in cities, food production, energy supply, mobility patterns, the role of nature in future cities, local and creative industries, etc.

European Ocean Days

The European Ocean Days provides a unique platform to exchange of ideas across diverse blue communities, discuss about the challenges ahead, explore innovative solutions, and pave the way for concrete actions that address the interconnected ocean issues. This year, the Ocean Days are a key component of the preparation of the Ocean Pact, a reference framework for all EU ocean-related policies.

ARDITI has opened applications for Doctoral Research Grants in all scientific domains. Applications deadline: January 31, 2025, at 5:00 pm (Autonomous Region of Madeira time).

The scholarships (2) are meant for PhD scholarship holders directly funded by ARDITI in all scientific domains and residing in Madeira who have planned or will plan, within the scope of their training plan, to carry out a research period at a university or research centre in the USA. Applications deadline: January 31, 2025.

The internship is aimed at nationals of EU Member States or candidate countries and graduates who have not been interns or previously worked for the European Central Bank (ECB).

Internship for graduates with at least three years of university studies completed, fluent in an EU language and satisfactory knowledge of English or French. Entity: European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

Internships for graduates with at least three years of university studies completed, good knowledge of one of the official EU languages, and satisfactory knowledge of French or English. The intern can choose up to three vacancies in different Departments. Entity: European Committee of the Regions (ECR).

Arquivo.pt 2025

Submit a work on a topic of your choice, carried out in groups or individually, whose main source of information is Arquivo.pt. The initiative is open to anyone who wants to travel back in time.

This survey provides an opportunity to reflect on and shape the call priorities for the transnational joint Calls 2025 and 2026 of DUT.


The Horizon Europe strategic plan 2025-2027 steers research and innovation funding  2025-2027, addressing the key global challenges such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, the digital transition and an ageing population.
