About

The Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation - ARDITI, aims to support research and experimental development activities, the promotion of technological diffusion, training and scientific and technical information, as well as actions that contribute to the modernization and development of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM). This support will be in line with the Region’s economic and social development plan, in particular with a view to ensuring the sustainability of economic growth and employment in the Region. This plan promotes a new paradigm of development policies based on innovation, entrepreneurship and the knowledge society, thus guaranteeing a significant increase in the population's educational and training levels and, simultaneously, an increase in social cohesion.

Nature

The Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation - ARDITI, is a private, non-profit association that aims to work towards the following objectives:

a. Strengthen collaboration and links between its associates and their associates with the scientific and business community;

b. Promote and support research and development (R&D) activities, namely through the allocation of funding to scientific research and technological development projects, grants for teachers and researchers, as well as Postgraduate, Masters, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral grants;

c. Develop and support human resources training actions;

d. Carry out activities to promote and disseminate R&D results and implement them in the business environment;

e. Support the Regional Government in the formulation and execution of scientific and technological policies;

f. Provide consultancy and technical support services to natural and legal persons, including central, regional and local administration bodies;

g. Detect and select sources of funding with a view to the scientific and technical activity of its members;

h. Exchange and disseminate technical and scientific information;

i. Manage the funds allocated to it within the scope of community funding;

j. Proceed with the development, promotion and management of the Scientific and Technological Park of Madeira;

k. Make research and innovation a priority for the Region by supporting the generation of jobs and knowledge-based growth;

l. Direct investment and create synergies that allow RTD+I efforts to be channelled towards the Region's added value, exploring economic opportunities and growth potential;

m. Improve the innovation process from a perspective of strategic intelligence on the added value, challenges, competitive advantages and potential for excellence in the Region;

n. Promote greater stakeholder engagement by ensuring that all partners are fully involved in developing, implementing and following the Region's smart specialization strategy.
