Job summary: The Ocean Observatory Madeira opens a Research Grant (BI) at post-doctoral level, with expertise in pelagic satellite and data logger telemetry and analysis. |
Job description: The oceanic archipelago of Madeira is located in the warm-temperate waters of the NE Atlantic, standing as a privileged platform to study the pelagic environment. Therefore, ARDITI, through the Oceanic Observatory of Madeira (OOM), included the remote sensing of large marine vertebrates and of the surrounding oceanographic features as one of its main goals.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD Degree in Biological Sciences, or a related field, and be familiar / experienced with biologging (preferentially on large marine vertebrates), with work experience and/or having published in the subject;
The work will be coordinated by Prof. Thomas Dellinger and Dr. Filipe Alves Duration 1 year, renewable up to 3 years. Salary The monthly maintenance stipend for "Bolsa de Investigação (BI): Doutor" (1495€) is determined by ‘FCT-Fundação para a Ciência Tecnologia’ (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en).
