HR Excellence in Research

ARDITI is committed to providing attractive, fair and transparent working conditions for researchers, in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers.

In this context, ARDITI has launched the formal process to obtain the HR Excellence in Research recognition from the European Commission.

HR Excellence in Research Award

The HR Excellence in Research Award is a quality label granted by the European Commission to research organisations and funders that align their human resources policies with the European Charter for Researchers.

The award recognises a long‑term, structured process of continuous improvement in the recruitment, support and career development of researchers at all stages.

ARDITI’s commitment and current status

ARDITI has endorsed the principles of the European Charter for Researchers, and is implementing a Human Resources strategy aligned with the HR Excellence in Research framework.

Following an internal analysis and consultation process, ARDITI has submitted the required initial documentation and is currently awaiting scrutiny and feedback from the European Commission.

  • Support career development, supervision quality and skills training.
  • Embed Charter and Code principles in ARDITI’s policies and everyday practice.

Governance: Steering Committee and Working Group

The HR Excellence in Research process at ARDITI is supported by a formal governance structure that combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day coordination.

Provides strategic oversight, validates key HR Excellence in Research documents and monitors progress against the Action Plan.

Process and participation

ARDITI will follow the standard phases of the HR Excellence in Research process: internal analysis, definition of an Action Plan, implementation, and periodic review in dialogue with the European Commission.

Researchers and staff have been involved through surveys, focus groups and internal meetings, ensuring that the priorities identified reflect real needs and contribute to a more attractive and supportive research environment.

The initial phase is complete, and the application for the HR Excellence in Research Award is based on four outputs required by the European Commission:

Once the assessment is completed and the Award has been granted, these documents and subsequent updates will guide ARDITI’s implementation of the HR Excellence in Research commitments.
