FCT seeks to promote the strengthening of skills of scientific and technological institutions through their participation in advanced computing projects.

Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP): 1st Joint Transnational Call

Deadline: September 13, 2023, 14:00 Lisbon time

This call aims to support transnational research and innovation projects lasting 36 months and addressing one of the following five priority areas: (1) Planning and managing sea uses at the regional level; (2) Development of offshore marine multi-use infrastructures to support the blue economy; (3) Climate neutral, environmentally sustainable, and resource-efficient blue food and feed; (4) Green transition of Blue Food production; (5) Ocean Digital Twin (ODT) test use cases at EU sea-basins and the Atlantic Ocean.

HERA 2023 - Call for Joint Transnational Proposals on the Theme of Crisis

Proposals may involve research projects from a variety of perspectives aligned with one or more of the following subthemes: different understandings of crisis; crisis and human reaction; and the representation of crisis.

Preparatory Action-European Fellowship Scheme for Researchers at Risk

This action will establish testing and validating procedures for selecting researchers (assessing their risk and awarding them the fellowship) and matching researchers with host institutions in the EU. The action will enhance support for researchers at risk to continue their work in a safe academic or non-academic environment. [Opens on June 28]

Ocean & Water and Arts: The Contribution of Creative Sectors to Mission Ocean and Waters

Deadline: September 20, 2023, 17:00 Brussels time

Creative activities can also play an important role in addressing the challenges of coastal areas, thus contributing to the New Bauhaus initiative. In this context, this action should bring together citizens, museums, aquaria, research institutions, engineers, architects, civil society and citizens with artists and other creative sectors to foster interdisciplinary experimentation and entrepreneurship.

Testing and Demonstrating Transformative Solutions to Protect Critical Infrastructure from Climate Change, Mainstreaming Nature-Based Solutions

Deadline: September 20, 2023, 17:00 Brussels time

The proposal should identify weaknesses and interlinkages of critical infrastructures in order to develop and test innovative solutions, combining technological and social innovation, leading to an increase of the resilience and adaptation capacity to climate change in the involved regions, local authorities and communities, assuring that nature-based solutions are explored as a priority and at the very heart of the development whenever possible.

Activities under this topic will support a more structured approach to sustainable land management in line with global commitments for land degradation neutrality and EU efforts for a balanced development of the EU territory.

This topic aims at designing and establishing a European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) and demonstrating its basic capacities.

A European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage - Innovative Tools for Digitising Cultural Heritage Objects

Deadline: September 21, 2023, 17:00 Brussels time

This topic aims at designing and implementing innovative tools and methods for the digitisation of (a) visible characteristics and (b) non-visible characteristics of cultural heritage objects to be incorporated into the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH).

Deadline: September 28, 2023, 17:00 Brussels time

This allows for legal entities from low R&I performing countries to join already selected collaborative R&I actions, subject to the agreement of the respective consortium and provided that legal entities from such countries are not yet participating in it.

EUI - Innovative Actions Second Call for Proposals

Deadline: October 5, 2023, 15:00 Brussels time

Each project can receive up to a maximum of EUR 5 million ERDF co-financing, and project implementation should take place within a maximum period of 3,5 years. The Call will fund projects to deliver tangible, real-life examples under the topics ‘Greening Cities’, ‘Sustainable tourism’ and ‘Harnessing talent in shrinking cities’.

Innovative Technologies for Safety and Excellence in Decommissioning, Including Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

Deadline: November 8, 2023, 17:00 Brussels time

Specific needs include developing remote, integrated and automatic technologies for waste characterisation and segregation, but also modular and mobile systems and robotic solutions to address the hard-to-access areas in a new and cost-effective way and developing data collection protocols and a global cost estimation methodology.

MSCA Doctoral Networks will implement doctoral programmes, through partnerships of universities, research institutions and research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond.
