The ideal candidate will have a PhD Degree in Biological Sciences, or a related field, and be familiar / experienced with biologging (preferentially on large marine vertebrates), with work experience and/or having published in the subject;
The work will be coordinated by Prof. Thomas Dellinger and Dr. Filipe Alves
1 year, renewable up to 3 years.
The monthly maintenance stipend for "Bolsa de Investigação (BI): Doutor" (1495€) is determined by ‘FCT-Fundação para a Ciência Tecnologia’ (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en).
The following evaluation criteria will be applied:
FS = QA + EP
FS – Final Score
QA – Qualifications
EP – Experience
3 points – PhD in Biologging (or related field of study)
4 points – co-authoring scientific papers on biologging on marine vertebrates (0.5 points for each publication in peer-reviewed journals, to a maximum of 4 points);
4 points - Experience in the data analysis of satellite and data logging telemetry in large marine vertebrates (1 point if 1 year of experience with data analysis and/or number of projects that have worked related with biologging; 2 points if between 1-3; 3 points if between 3-5; 4 points if >5);
3 points – Know-how in ecological modelling (1 point if have attendant 1 course/workshop/project’s consultant; 2 points if between 2-4; 3 points if >4);
